The Historic Warbird Foundation is is a 501(c)-3 not-for-profit foundation created in December 2004 and located in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Foundation was organized for the purpose of acquiring, restoring, displaying, and demonstrating various antique aircraft of historic military significance.
The Historic Warbird Foundation’s focus is on preserving aircraft in flying condition, demonstrating these aircraft at airshows and other special events, and promoting public interest in historic military aircraft.
Our mission is to educate the general public on these aircraft, inspire kids to work hard and aim high, and to have fun. We enjoy interacting with young spectators at airshows and invest any proceeds from our activities into childrens’ programs.
The Historic Warbird Foundation is a sister foundation to the Warbird Heritage Foundation and a member of Warbirds of America. Tim Brutsche flies the historic aircraft as a member of the Hoppers Flight Team.
The Foundation is currently building a new hangar at W.K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek, Michigan, with expected completion by July 1st. When completed, we look forward to welcoming visitors and groups to learn more about historic military aircraft.
